Self Powered Neutron Detectors (SPNDs) are used as in-core Neutron
Fluence Detectors in Nuclear Power Plants. These detectors don't use external power to collect the charge generated in the neutron interaction with sensitive material of the detector. hence these detectors are called as Self Powered Neutron Detector
